Here's our beautiful new kitchen. It's been basically finished for a while now, these last corner cabinets were added when Ryne was born. Thank you Thank you to Art and Eric for all their hard work!

Now I just have to work at keeping it clean and beautiful! Not an easy task.

Kitchen Remodel

Since this has been on going for the past few weeks I've decided to separate it into "phases" instead of waiting until it is *completely* finished to post it. 'Cause that might be awhile before it "happens".

Late last spring while Eric was at choir practice he was chatting with a friend and he (the friend)mentioned that he was remodelling his kitchen. Eric asked if we could have the cabinets if it turned out to be something that we'd want. He said to come and get them, but it had to be that week. So the next morning I went over to take a look and found that they were good quality oak, heavy duty cabinets. Sure they were scuffed up and needed a little TLC but still in great shape. And for the price we couldn't beat it. So that week we helped him tear them out and put them in our garage...I lost my parking spot for the summer but the sacrifice was worth it.

Their kitchen layout was basically the same as ours just larger, so we figured we'd have a little extra to play with.

So the summer passed with the van being super hot in the daytime and the cabinets being nice and cool sitting in the garage. Eric had a few weeks off at the end of August and we hoped to get it done then, but his dad couldn't make it down until this last week, luckily Eric did have last week off, but had to return to work this week.

So hope you enjoy these first pictures. I'll post more when it is done.

Crazy Summer!

Ok...ok...
I've had a few of y'all mention that I haven't updated my blog in awhile. Sorry I've just been busy...or I could blame it on forgettfulness due to pregnancy. Either excuse is quite valid I asure you. I will try to do better. Maybe once school starts at the end of this month and I "get rid" of 3 of my kids for the day I'll have more time to devote to blogging. Well, any excuse I can find to delay housework is fine by me!

I will most likely post some things from this summer, sorry they're so late.

Cameras are a funny thing

2 weeks ago...we didn't have any cameras working. Cindy sent our digital camera off to be fixed under warranty. We weren't sure if they were going to fix them or not, so Cindy's friend Robert bought us a new camera. Well...2 days ago...the digital camera came back. It was fixed and refurbished to new specs. So...now we have 2 digital cameras.

The second camera issue was our video camera. There was something wrong with the lens. We were told that it would cost more to fix it than to get a new one. Well, we couldn't afford a new one...so I looked on Ebay and found our model for sale. It said the pull out screen jumped up and down. Our current video camera didn't have that problem. So we got it on Ebay for a steal and when I looked at the possibility of switching the pull out screen on the old one to the new one the old one started working again. I took some video just to make sure and it works great. I took the new one we just bought on Ebay and tried to make the pull out screen jump as it stated in the bid, and I couldn't make it do it. It also works fine. I tightened the screws down on both and we now have 2 good video cameras.

Eureka!!

A new Camera

We posted back a few weeks ago that both of our cameras were broken. I am not saying it was kids...but it was ironic that both have the same issues with them (the lens). We have a new camera now and will be blogging again soon.

We bought a new DVD/TV player.

We decided to buy a new DVD/TV player.

It's only an 8" screen

But it came with this great motor to run it and 4 new tires. The speakers make it sound like you are in a theatre with surround sound. The gas mileage is better than the Durango by about 15 miles/gal.

It also came with a 75000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and it fits nicely in the garage.

The kids especially like that they can climb in and push a button to close the door...now Mom doesn't have to get out and close the door for them.

Yes...we have gone the way of letting our Dodge Durango go for a better economical vehicle. The amazing thing is that it will pull the boat. It's getting warm outside, so I imagine Eric will test it out in the next few weeks and take the 4 wheels, the engine, the DVD/TV, and the boat out to the lake.
